When it comes up
- VA loan purchases. VA lists Virginia as a statewide wood-destroying insect information jurisdiction. Its guidance also contains property-type and appraisal exceptions, so the lender remains the source for the exact transaction requirement. source

Find and check a Virginia pest-control company
Ask who will sign the requested report and which credential supports that work. VDACS Category 7-B covers commercial pesticide work against wood-destroying pests, but it should not be described as a universal signer rule for every inspection-only opinion.
