About PestPin

PestPin exists to fix a broken experience: finding a pest control company you can actually trust. For too long, homeowners have been handed off to lead-resale mills that sell the same request to a half-dozen companies, leaving you fielding calls without clear credential evidence for each listing. PestPin uses a one-provider-at-a-time request flow and makes its source-record limits explicit.

We list 23,291 pest control businesses across 35 states and districts and 5,169 cities. Each one was marked active on its state's license record the day we processed that state's file. States publish on their own schedules, so check current status before you hire.

How source-record matching works

We don't take a company's word for it, and we don't buy a list. Public listings start from official state regulator sources, which report a record's status, scope, and timing under that state's rules:

  • Sourced from the state board. Every listing is matched to a real business on its state's official pesticide/pest-control registry, and we store the license number so you can verify it yourself.
  • Source timing is disclosed. We last processed regulator records on October 3, 2026. That is the date we read the files, not a promise that every state published something new that day. Always confirm current status before hiring. Most states publish an online license search you can run yourself; a few, Rhode Island among them, keep no public search and answer only when you contact the division. Your state's official lookup says which of those you are dealing with, and our full record-matching process covers the rest.
  • One company at a time. When a local pest control company is available, your request is offered to one company at a time and is never resold to a list of competitors. A match is confirmed only after a company accepts; availability and a response are not guaranteed.
  • Request-linked reviews. A private token connects each submission to a PestPin request accepted by that company, and we moderate every submission before it publishes. The token does not prove hiring or completed work. Payment never buys a rating or alters a published review.

What we are, and what we're not

PestPin is a directory and matching service. We are not a pest control company, we don't perform treatments, and we never take a cut of the work a company does for you. You never pay us anything: pest control companies do, and we explain exactly how on our How we make money page.

Who runs PestPin

PestPin is run by Vijaygopal, its founder, who reads the state license lists, answers the support line and signs the research on this site. It is a small company without a sales floor: the businesses listed here were not called, the reviews are not bought, and a request you send goes to one licensed company that chose to accept it.

Our mission

We want to be the place people go when something is in the house and they have no idea who to call. That means showing homeowners where every fact on a listing came from, and dealing fairly with the local businesses on the other end of the request.
