Terms of Service

By using PestPin ("the Service") you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

The Service

PestPin is a directory and marketplace that helps homeowners find and contact pest control providers. We are not a pest control provider and do not perform pest control services. We match directory records to official state license sources as processed, but source status can change and we do not guarantee the work of any provider. Confirm current license and insurance information directly before hiring.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to submit a quote request or open a provider account. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 gave us information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

For homeowners

Using the Service is free. When you request a quote, you authorize us to offer your request to one eligible provider at a time and authorize an accepting provider to contact you. If you select a named provider, fallback matching occurs only when you separately consent. With fallback consent, different providers may receive a limited request preview sequentially after a decline, expiry, or failed offer; full contact details are disclosed to the provider that accepts. PestPin does not distribute the request to several providers at once. You are responsible for evaluating and contracting with providers directly. Acceptance, contact, a quote, and booked work are not guaranteed.

For providers

Providers must keep information they add to a claimed profile accurate and current. An approved provider with sufficient account credit pays the flat amount shown for an exclusive lead only when the provider accepts it. Self-service credit purchase and optional placement-plan checkout are available only when controls are shown in the provider dashboard. Any placement plan is billed under the terms shown before purchase. Self-service cancellation and plan changes are not currently available; contact [email protected] for account or billing assistance and wait for confirmation of any requested change. Paid placements are clearly labeled. Submitting fake reviews or misrepresenting credentials is grounds for removal.

Photo pest identifier

Our free bug identifier provides AI-assisted guidance for general information only. It is not a professional pest inspection, a lab identification, or medical, veterinary, or emergency advice, and it can be wrong. Do not rely on it to determine whether any insect, spider, bite, or sting is dangerous. Always confirm with a licensed pest control professional, and for a suspected venomous bite or sting contact Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 or seek medical care immediately. Your uploaded photo is processed to produce a result and is not stored (see our Privacy Policy).

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The Service, including the photo identifier and all content, is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, PestPin is not liable for the acts, omissions, or work quality of any provider, for any identification or content produced by the Service, or for any damages arising from your use of the Service.

Indemnification

If you are a provider, you agree to cover PestPin for claims, losses, and legal costs that come out of your own work or your own content. That includes the services you perform for a homeowner, the pesticides and methods you use, your licensing and insurance status, and anything you write on a claimed profile, including a claim of ownership you were not entitled to make. You are the one contracting with the homeowner, so the liability for that job sits with you.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or remove a listing or an account for fraud, abuse, payment reversal after an accepted introduction, misrepresented credentials, fake reviews, or any breach of these Terms. Where it is safe and practical, we tell you why and give you a chance to fix it first.

A provider may close its account at any time by emailing [email protected]. Credit already used to accept an introduction is not returned, because the introduction was delivered. Remaining credit has no cash value and is not automatically converted to a refund; email us and we will tell you what we can do for your account. An approved invalid-lead review is settled as account credit under our accepted lead terms, not as cash.

Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where PestPin is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any court action that these Terms permit belongs in the state or federal courts covering that location, and you and PestPin both consent to that venue.

Dispute resolution

Talk to us first. If something goes wrong, email [email protected] and describe the problem. Both sides agree to try in good faith to settle it informally for 30 days before starting a formal proceeding. Most billing and lead-quality problems are fixed at this step.

Then individual arbitration. If that does not work, the dispute is resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis, before a single arbitrator, under the rules of a recognized arbitration provider. Neither side may bring a class action, a class arbitration, or a representative action, and the arbitrator may not consolidate claims.

Two ways out. Either side may bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court instead. And you can reject this arbitration agreement entirely: email [email protected] with the subject "Arbitration opt-out" within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, and it will not apply to you. Opting out changes nothing else about your account or the rest of these Terms.

Severability and entire agreement

If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, that part is limited or removed and the rest stays in force. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and our accepted lead terms, are the whole agreement between you and PestPin about the Service, and they replace any earlier understanding on the same subject.
