Help & FAQ

How can we help?

Quick answers about how PestPin works for homeowners and pest control companies. Still stuck? Email us at hello@pestpin.comand we aim to reply within one business day, or use the contact form.

For homeowners

Is PestPin free to use?
Yes, completely free for you. Search companies, read the state license record behind each listing, read any reviews it has, and send a request without paying anything. Pest control companies pay us, you never do.
How does matching work?
You tell us your city and pest problem, and we check whether a local pest control company can take the request. If one is available, we offer the request to one company at a time, never a list of five. If you select a company that is not accepting requests, your request remains pending unless you explicitly agree to a fallback. A match is confirmed only after a company accepts.
What happens after I request a quote?
We email you a confirmation with a private tracking link, then try to offer the request to a local pest control company that can take it. If a company accepts, it receives your contact details and may contact you by phone, text, or email. Response time and availability are not guaranteed, and there is no obligation to hire.
How do I check on, change, or cancel a request I already sent?
Open the private link in your confirmation email. It shows the live status, and while no company has accepted yet you can correct your phone or email there or cancel the request outright. Lost the email? We can send the link again. Once a company has accepted, it already holds your details and we cannot pull them back, so cancel with the company directly.
What if nobody contacts me, or I don't like the quote?
First check your tracking link: it says plainly whether a company accepted, whether an offer is still out, or whether no company in your area was able to take it. In some cities no company has signed up yet, so that last outcome is real and we show it rather than leaving you waiting. You can browse another company and send a new request for free. If something went wrong, tell us so we can investigate. We cannot guarantee that a company will be available or respond.
Do you show prices?
Yes. Every pest has a cost guide with typical U.S. price ranges, and city pages show local cost context. Exact pricing comes from the company after they assess your specific situation.

Trust & record matching

How do you match pest control license records?
We match every listed company to an official state license record marked active when the source was processed. Publication and refresh timing vary by regulator, so confirm current status before you hire. Most states publish an online license search you can use yourself, and a few (Rhode Island among them) answer only if you contact the division. Your state's official lookup says which one you are dealing with, and how we check license records covers the full process.
Are the reviews real?
Published reviews require a private token tied to a PestPin request accepted by that company, and every submission is moderated. The token does not prove the reviewer hired the company or that work was completed, so read the review for what actually happened. Ratings cannot be bought, and payment never alters a published review.
Why does this company have no reviews?
Because nobody has left one for that company yet, which is normal here. A review can only be written by someone we sent to it, and only after the company accepted the request, so reviews build up slowly and a company with none has done nothing wrong. We would rather show you an empty space than fill it. Judge a listing on the license record, the source link, and what the company tells you on the phone.
How do I report a wrong listing or a bad review?
Email us at hello@pestpin.com with the company name or profile link. We investigate wrong details, dead links, and reviews that violate our policy, and we suspend listings when a license can't be validated.
How do I request that my data be deleted?
Email us at hello@pestpin.comfrom the address you used, or see our Privacy Policy. We honor access and deletion requests under CCPA/GDPR.

For pest control companies

How do I get listed or claim my listing?
If your license is on your state board, you may already be listed, search your business and claim it free. Not listed yet? Add your business. Claiming is always free.
How much does it cost?
A basic listing and claiming are free. An approved provider with enough account credit can accept an exclusive general-pest lead for $29, or a termite or bed bug lead for $99. No subscription is required. Self-service credit top-ups are available from the dashboard. Monthly placement plans are not on sale, so an accepted introduction is the only thing we charge for. See current pricing and availability.
